The Shiksha Mahakumbh Abhiyan is a transformative national movement of Vidya Bharati that brings together teachers, students, researchers, academicians, intellectuals, industry leaders, policymakers, innovators, social organisations, and community institutions to reimagine education for a developed and self-reliant India. Rooted in the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) and guided by the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Abhiyan seeks to make learning holistic, value-based, multidisciplinary, research-driven, skill-oriented, and closely aligned with nation-building.
Each edition moves beyond dialogue by translating ideas into meaningful action. It fosters partnerships among academia, industry, research institutions, schools, universities, government agencies, civil society, and local communities to develop sustainable educational solutions. The Abhiyan provides a vibrant platform for young achievers to present innovative ideas, research, projects, startups, and models inspired by Bharatiya knowledge traditions, scientific inquiry, and contemporary societal needs. It also promotes Indian languages, indigenous knowledge systems, teacher leadership, experiential learning, entrepreneurship, skill development, community engagement, and collaboration among knowledge institutions to build an inclusive and innovation-driven educational ecosystem.
The Sixth edition of Shiksha Mahakumbh, to be hosted at NIT Hamirpur, carries this journey into the Himalayan landscape of Himachal Pradesh, where education, nature, culture, innovation, and sustainability converge. The edition aims to strengthen the integration of the Indian Knowledge System with contemporary education and research, foster meaningful dialogue between academia, industry, intellectuals, and society, to translate collective wisdom into actionable programmes, policy recommendations, institutional collaborations, and scalable models that contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
